I now need titles...
I just imported my blog into my facebook, and I realised I need titles... Hope I remember to add them everytime I write. OK back to LaTeX.

So tired of this straight line, and everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
- Angel, Sarah McLachlan

Let pi be a plane.
pi: r . (1, 2, 3) = 0
My 3D Calculus professor today told me that the second statement means absolutely nothing. Sometimes I think many people are idiots in their own special way.

'Cause I prayed for strength
And I got pain that made me strong
I prayed for courage
And got fear to overcome
When I prayed for faith
My empty heart brought me to my knees
I don't always get what I want
I get what I need
- What I Need, Collin Raye

Well... I went down to see the director of admissions just now, and he made a phone call down to the enrollment office. All of a sudden, my previously missing file was suddenly located and they managed to get me a letter saying that I paid my $500 deposit. So, you'd think that'd be the end of the story... but it just gets better.
I brought the letter over to The Hub (the CMU admin office for students), and showed it to them, requesting that they update my student account (as the director of admissions told me to). And who did I meet but good ol' John (who wrote the email 2 posts down), who tells me - oh I have that letter already. I just dunno where the money is. We know you've paid, but we dunno which account that money went into. So we're trying to find the account that your draft was cashed into to transfer the money out of. So sit tight.
And all this while he was trying to get me to get a copy of the draft from DBS (which would cost $35 and inconvenience my dad), keeping me under the impression that they think I haven't paid and I need to prove it to them. Sneaky.

A reply from some person in some CMU administrative office...
YOU ARE A CURRENT STUDENT AND THE HUB HAS YOUR FILE. IN THE FILE SHOULD BE A LETTER STATING THAT WE RECEIVED YOUR $500 DEPOSIT. THAT SHOULD BE PROOF , ALL DEFER STUDENTS PAY THE DEPOSIT TO HOLD THEIR PLACE HERE AT CMU.THANK YOU, THE HUB WILL HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THIS, WE DO NOT HAVE THE FILES FOR CURRENT STUDENTS, ONCE YOU ATTEND, YOUR FILE IS IN THE HANDS OF THE HUB.
Either she had a keyboard caps lock malfunction... or she was just plain rude (and unhelpful). Du lan.

Thank you for submitting the attached information to us. We still cannot locate the $500 deposit. Are you able to obtain a copy of the canceled draft from DBS Queensway Branch. The information on the back of the canceled draft would provide us with information on tracking where and when the draft was cashed and deposited.
Now they're trying to tell me they still can't find any information that I paid $500 in 2005 even though I gave them the receipt from DBS that says $500 was sent to them. Besides, the fact that I'm enrolled and staying in university housing should mean something don't you think? Maybe?

Last Saturday, we went to Robinson Mall (think Robinson, USA as opposed to Robinsons, Orchard Road), this shopping mall near the airport.

And amongst other things there (including PetCo, JCPenney and Ikea), there was Krispy Kreme!

So here's Michael

and Zhiwei

and Zhiquan (whom for some reason, I don't have a photo of) and me @ Krispy Kreme. The custard filled one is really good btw.
